All Kinds of Hell is the story of my heart, and I'm so proud to finally see it in print.
I really thought it would be my breakout novel. Several editors snapped at it, and it went to several acquisitions meetings at major publishing houses (some even simultaneously--I smelled auction!) but. . . . alas. No contract. No offers. My agent gave it back to me with the equivalent of "I did all I could do."
It was a blow. One that still staggers me, honestly.
I don't know if All Kinds of Hell will have much of a readership now. I know it won't have the kind of readership it would have had if one of the publishers had picked it up, but it's out there now.
I'll share the inspiration and why this novel is so important to me in the next blog post.
